Now, companies like AdSense, pay you for hosting their advertisement by giving you a small amount of money each time a unique visitor of yours, clicks on their advertisements.
Lets make some calculations. Lets say that you wrote about football, and every day 1000 people reads your blog. Out of 1000, 250 click your advertisements. Each click gives you $0,5. How many $ is it per month?

What domain names are good

In general, a good domain is considered when is:

• Short
• Without dashes
• Memorable
• Contains one word that is popular to requests in search engines

If you wanted to keep the domain that you found and bought, and wondered how to build an online shop on it, the process its very easy. Find a piece of software like osCommerce or Joomla + VirtueMart, experience with them and with little patience you can have a profitable online shop.
If you intend to do that in general, its good to be professional. Have a unique logo for your store, a name that sticks, a slogan, features that makes your store a personalized experience, professional layout and so on. I agree, all of that cost, but if you do it right it can easily become your main work.

Get payed to view advertisements

There are companies that pay users to actually view advertisements. For each advertisement you see, you receive a small amount of money (usually $0,001 ~ $0,01). Now lets say that you liked that site and you want to recommend it to your friends. You send them an email that includes a link that site gave you (it includes your referral code) and they check it out.
They like it and they join it. They start viewing advertisements and they recommend it to more people. And them they recommend it to even more.
The beauty is that you, because you brought them, you receive a % as bonus from what they earn (not from their money, they will take 100% of what they earn) and another % from what their friends earn, and so on.
As you see, all those small amounts of money turn into a big profit if it is done properly, but keep in mind that the PPC sites as they are called, will require you to visit them and click advertisements every some days, else your account will be deleted and you are out of business.
So as you guess, it is time consuming but it has good potentials. This business model is called multilevel marketing.
One big problem is that there are a lot of scums out there that trick people by promising $1000 per day. The best advice is to use your common sense. If something sounds to good to be true, then probably isn't.

There are companies that can host your domain for free and place advertisements under them. When a user comes across and clicks on one of the hosted advertisements, you receive some money.

As you understand the only good domains for parking are those that consist of one popular word.
